we each have a light that is all our own
know your light so that you can let it shine
to shine is to be who you truly are
shine is a guidebook for self-discovery & identity… for learning you and being you.
this guidebook has no author named on the cover because YOU are the author. this is the book of YOU!
with it you will explore 22 themes and questions, along with inspiring messages, powerful lessons, and helpful strategies to help you learn about you. it contains plenty of room for your own journalling and exploration along with handy lists, topics, and ideas to learn YOU.

you’ve lost your self,
or want to embrace and honour yourself more deeply,
or feel like you are ready to explore new layers of who you are here to be,

(or perhaps you have someone in your life who is working on one of those things… this guidebook makes a beautiful gift for a loved one!)
shine is as colourful on the inside as it is on the outside… the rainbow colours represent the layers and shades and unique magic that makes you you… that makes your light brilliant exactly as it is.
why shine?
i created and designed this guidebook for me because a few years ago i lost my self. i lost a dream that i had held on to for a long time, with it i lost a part of my identity. then i lost both my parents within 6 months of each other… i lost my home in canada, i lost a future that i always envisioned, and i lost the me that only they knew. i got thrown off course of my goals and plans so i felt like i lost my business and my momentum as well. it was a tough period, my dark night of the soul i suppose. for a long time i was lost in grief and depression… i felt like i was only a shadow moving through the world. i saw a post saying: “you can’t lose yourself, you aren’t a 5 dollar bill!” but from my point of view it sure felt that way. i knew that i needed to find myself again… this guidebook is the result of that work. i am remembering who i was and i am learning who i am now on the other side of that darkness that i experienced, i am choosing who i wish to be and letting go of some old stories about who i am that no longer feel like a good fit. my intention for myself was found and this guidebook is what i created to help me feel found.
i thought perhaps it might help someone else too - even if you don’t feel lost in the way that i did, i do think that identity and knowing who we are is not a destination so much as it is a journey that never ends. no matter what sort of journey you are on right now, i hope that the pages of this little guidebook can offer you some AHAs, some inspiration and confirmation, deeper trust in yourself, a sense of worthiness and a sense of knowing… a way to say to yourself: hey, this is me. and who i am is awesome.
from the introduction of shine
this book is a journey of self-discovery.
a journey to know, honour, love, explore, find, remember, embrace, transform, grow, choose… BE… yourself.
as you do this work you create the book of you! it’s a way to remember and honour: this is me and who i am is brilliant!
as we learn and deeply know ourself we build a sense of confidence, authenticity, courage, worthiness, alignment, and wholeheartedness that comes from within.
we are always changing, especially as life changes around us; self-discovery and self-reflection is a time to explore and decide who we are being now.
sometimes we can experience a loss or a change in our lives that can leave us feeling lost… lost direction, purpose, mojo, meaning, self. this is a way to find our self and our way again.
we can also experience times where we feel dissatisfied, stagnant, stuck, unfulfilled, uncertain, unignited, or itchy… like we are longing for more. self-discovery is a way to ignite our inner light, so that we can keep shining.
know your light, learn your light… to shine is to be who you truly are.
